Occupational Health and Safety Initiatives

Based on Sumitomo Warehouse Group’s approach that “safety is the basis for everything,” we improve the safety and comfort of the working environment.

Occupational Health and Safety Policy

In addition to complying with laws and agreements concerning occupational health and safety, the Sumitomo Warehouse Group strives to create a safe and comfortable working environment that is both physically and mentally healthy and rewarding. We also strive to ensure the safety of Sumitomo Warehouse Group employees and those who work at the Sumitomo Warehouse Group’s business sites, including cooperating companies, and to eliminate occupational accidents.

Management Systems for Occupational Health and Safety

At Sumitomo Warehouse, the Safety and Quality Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Sustainability Committee, formulates measures for the Group’s occupational health and safety, checks the progress of these measures, and shares information.
In addition, at each business site of a certain size, a regular meeting is held by the Health and Safety Committee, comprised of the chairperson, health manager, industrial physician, and labor union members. We disclose the findings and discussions from the Health and Safety Committee to employees while also providing them with education on occupational health and safety.
Among our overseas subsidiaries, Sumitomo Warehouse (Singapore) Pte Ltd. and Union Services (S’pore) Pte Ltd. have acquired ISO 45001 certification, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems.

  • At warehouses and container terminals, we conduct safety meetings, safety patrols, pre-work meetings, etc., in cooperation with subcontractors.
