Risk Management

Sumitomo Warehouse has established a risk management system for appropriately dealing with a variety of risks in business activities.

Risk Management System

The Company has established Risk Management Regulations to ensure everyone engaged in the Company’s operations shares an awareness of risk management and actively addresses these, and created a risk management system based on the basic policies on risk management set forth in the rules.

The necessary measures for activities related to risk management are taken with the Internal Control Subcommittee under the Sustainability Committee chaired by the President considering various measures, and a risk manager and an assistant risk manager appointed in each department. Furthermore, we identify risks that may occur and prepare a risk map based on these. Risks that need to be addressed with highest priority are selected, and preventive measures are developed. In addition, important legal and tax issues are handled by receiving guidance and advice from external experts such as attorneys and tax accountants as needed.

The Audit Department conducts internal audits of the state of risk management, and reports the results to the Sustainability Committee. The Sustainability Committee takes appropriate steps to address the audit results as needed, and reports to the Board of Directors.
