The purpose of the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children is to encourage the creation of a society where children, who will lead the future society, are born and brought up in good health.

In accordance with this, the Sumitomo Warehouse formulated the General Employer Action Plan as follows, and has been working on the establishment of a system whereby its employees can keep a good balance between work and childcare and exercise their abilities to the fullest.

Sumitomo Warehouse formulates the action plan as follows to encourage its employees to exercise their abilities to the fullest by creating a good work environment under which they can keep a good balance between work and childcare.

Description

Goal 1: Encourage male employees with children to participate in raising children
Measures April 2020 onwards Provide the surrounding people with a deeper understanding of male employees’ participation in raising children
April 2020 onwards Encourage childcare leave and shortened working hours for male employees
Goal 2: Reduction of overtime
Measures April 2020 onwards Ensure all lights in buildings are turned off once per week
April 2020 onwards Promote the sharing and standardization of operations within the organization
Goal 3: Promotion of the acquisition of annual paid leave
Measures April 2020 onwards Ensure planned paid leave (five days per year) is taken
April 2020 onwards Change employees’ awareness of taking paid leave

Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement

To respond to the diverse needs in society and the trend of globalization, it is essential for companies to ensure diversity in its human resources.

Above all, women’s career advancement is one of the most pressing issues. Sumitomo Warehouse, in accord with the purpose of the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace to steadily promote women’s empowerment, formulated the General Employer Action Plan as follows and has been working on the establishment of a system that encourages female employees to further exercise their abilities.

Sumitomo Warehouse formulates the action plan as follows to develop a work environment in which female employees can fully exercise their abilities and play a leading role in the workplace.

Description
Goal1: Raise the proportion of women in managerial posts to 5% or higher
Measures April 2020 onwards Enhancement of career advancement training for women in regular positions
April 2020 onwards Review and implementation of proactive measures to promote female employees in regular positions to managerial posts
Goal2: Reduce the difference in the average years of service between men and woman to less than one year
Measures April 2020 onwards Review and implementation of extension of systems eliminating the need for women to leave their jobs for life events
